Steve Vitale is a Managing Director in the KPMG Ignition tax technology practice, focusing on indirect tax technology services. With 15 years of experience specializing in state and local taxation, Steve is a trusted advisor in sales tax, property tax, state income tax, credits/incentives, and other indirect taxes.

As the leader of the Ignition State and Local Tax technology group, Steve oversees a team that drives services across indirect tax compliance, controversy, planning and incentives through data access, data analytics, data cleansing, tax calculations, and reporting. He brings vast experience in sales tax process improvements through implementing data analytics, machine learning, continuous data monitoring, and tax engine implementations.

Furthermore, Steve has extensive knowledge of the indirect tax impacts of corporate restructurings, working on various projects involving transportation company planning, management services company planning, legal entity rationalizations, procurement company planning, trade-in planning, and more. Expertise in this area allows him to provide valuable insights and guidance to clients navigating complex tax implications during corporate restructurings.
