Form 990 for 2013 - Instructions for Schedule D 

November 25:  The IRS posted the final version of the Form 990 instructions for Schedule D, Supplemental Financial Statements, for tax years beginning in 2013.

Changes from the 2012 Schedule D instructions include:


  • A requirement for program-related investments to be categorized as either loans or equity investments in Part VIII
  • Identification and disclosure in Part VIII of any domestic organizations in which the filing organization has made program-related investments
  • A requirement to explain in Part XIII the credit counseling, debt management, credit repair, or debt negotiation services provided by the organization
