Steven went to Brunel University to study Economics and Business Finance, before joining our Tax Graduate programme. Steven is now an Assistant Manager.

"After University, I wanted something that would challenge me and give me a chance to work towards professional qualifications. Tax is a stimulating place to work because things change all the time. We have to get our head around new legislation and regulations quickly in order to advise clients, which makes for a dynamic place to work.

Meggie studied Economics at the University of York. She became interested in working in technology after spending time working with a phone company at the Rio Olympic Games.

“I actually applied to a few different graduate programmes at various organisations, but KPMG really stood out. That was partly because it had the best recruitment process. It was so quick. Some other companies were only inviting me to assessment centres three months after I’d applied.

The other main thing that appealed to me about KPMG, and this programme in particular, was the scope to get involved in so many different things. You can experience different teams, work on a range of projects and, if you do well, you can progress quickly.

“I’ve been really impressed with the culture. In my team, there’s a lot of give and take. There is a lot of flexibility in both the working hours and being able to work from home.”

Alan did his degree in Accounting at the University of Calgary and joined a Big Four firm in Canada where he qualified in Audit and moved into Deal Advisory. However, he wanted a change and decided to change both country and firm when he joined the Deal Advisory team in our London office.

"Back in Canada, KPMG has a really good reputation. Not just for the work that we do, but also because people know that our culture has a real social aspect, and everyone gets along well.

When I decided I wanted to work abroad, I hoped that KPMG’s reputation was something that translated across its global network and would apply here in London too. It does.
