FDA - Centralized entry review pilot program 

June 18:  The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced the launch of a centralized entry review pilot program, which will run from August 12, 2013, through November 4, 2013.

The FDA has limited the scope of this initial pilot program to ports of entry that primarily serve as courier hubs.


In an effort to improve efficiency and review of entries, the FDA expects that entry documents requested by it will be submitted electronically (via the FDA’s Import Trade Auxiliary Communication System).


Entry filers who will be filing through one of the identified port codes, between August 12, 2013, through November 4, 2013, and who have pilot entry questions, will be able to email the pilot entry reviewers.


The FDA will provide additional details (including contact points and pilot hours of operation) closer to the August 12 start date for the pilot program.
