Singapore – Implementation of New Hiring and Employment Pass Application Rules Announced 

KPMG in Singapore reports on the recently-announced implementation of the new Fair Consideration Framework (FCF) rules and the requirement for a higher qualifying salary for new Employment Pass (EP) applications. The new FCF rules, which take effect on August 1, 2014, are being put in place to foster better jobs and development opportunities for Singaporeans, especially young graduates and Professionals, Managers, and Executives. It is important that companies adopt the FCF requirements into their HR practices and policies for hiring of employees. Companies should plan ahead and modify their recruiting processes to ensure full compliance with the new guidelines.
