United States – Immigration Authorities Issue FAQ on Same-Sex Couples 

On July 26, 2013, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigrations Services (USCIS) posted a “Frequently Asked Questions” (FAQ) providing some guidance on its interpretation of the recent decision of the U.S. Supreme Court which struck down a part of the Defense of Marriage Act (“DOMA”). The position of USCIS, which issues U.S. visas and “green cards,” may be of particular importance to administrators of international assignment programs.
