Norway – New Procedures Ease Entry into Norway for Accompanying Family Members

KPMG in Norway reports that the Norwegian authorities have extended the possibility of submitting applications for residence permits through a representative in Norway to now include applications for accompanying family members. With the changed rules, now the employer (or principal) can also make the applications on behalf of the Norway-inbound employee’s accompanying family members. Family members, consequently, can also be granted and obtain their permits for legal stay before entering Norway and, thus, can obtain their personal numbers (ID number) shortly after arrival in Norway.
