Australia – 457 Visa Changes; Migration Amendment Bill Awaits Royal Assent

KPMG in Australia reports on some recent immigration developments that could impact globally-mobile executives and their multinational employers, including the various changes to the Temporary (work) Skilled subclass 457 visa regime announced by the new Minister for Immigration, Brendan O’Connor on February 23, 2013. Also, covered in this newsletter are the various measures in the Migration Amendment (Reform to Employer Sanctions) Bill 2012, which was recently passed by the Senate and now awaits Royal Assent.
