Italy - Labor Ministry Publishes New 2012 Notional Remuneration Tables 

On 24 January 2012, Italy’s Ministry of Labor and Social Policies published a decree reporting the salary bands to determine the amount of “notional remuneration” applicable to Italian assignees working abroad during the 2012 fiscal year. The notional remuneration regime is used as the taxable base for social security purposes for all Italian employees working in countries that have not signed a social security agreement with Italy covering cross-border workers and limit the income that will be subject to social security and income taxes.”
