United States - Scammers and Phishers Claiming to be IRS Still Targeting Individuals

The U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has issued several warnings on the fraudulent use of the IRS name and logo by persons trying to gain access to taxpayers’ personal and financial information for the purpose of stealing their identity or assets. This practice is frequently referred to as “phishing.”
