Italy - Italy’s Government Issues New Rules on Tax Treatment of Termination Payments 

Italy has introduced new taxation rules for the employees’ termination indemnity (Trattamento di fine rapporto) under article 24, paragraph 31 of the so-called “Save Italy” Act. The Act, put forward by Italy’s new government led by Prime Minister Mario Monti, was approved on 22 December 2011, by the Italian Parliament.
