In Singapore, KPMG has a Corporate Citizenship (CC) programme that encourages our people to play a more active role as a volunteer and to contribute to the less fortunate in our community. It reaffirms the commitment of KPMG to turn knowledge into value for the benefit of its clients, its people and its communities.
Past projects under KPMG's CC programme have included blood donation exercises, bone marrow donor testing, volunteer recruitment programmes with Singapore's Ministry of Community Development and Sports, involvement with the Singapore Red Cross Society's fund raising and clothing collection programmes, fund-raising on Red Nose Day and support of the Singapore Breast Cancer Foundation's activities.
A highlight of CC is KPMG's annual Make a Difference Day which was previously known as Community Day. Started in 1999, this day sees the entire firm taking the opportunity to spend a working day with the beneficiaries of the voluntary welfare organizations supported by the firm. Since the inaugural Community Day eight years ago, more than $1,000,000 has been raised internally from KPMG management and staff to support our adopted charities.
