Stephen joined KPMG Kenya in 2005 and has over 20 years post qualification experience in providing audit and non-audit services to clients in the Consumer and Industrial Markets, Financial Services and Public Sector and has audited companies in these sectors in East Africa and the United States of America.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting Option) degree from the University of Nairobi and a Master of Theology from St. Paul’s University. He is a qualified accountant and a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK). In his current role, Stephen heads the KPMG Africa Root Cause Analysis and coordinates the Department of Professional Practice and Audit Quality Initiatives in East Africa. He is a member of ICPAK’s Practitioners Development Committee and ICPAK’s Professional Standard sub-committee. He has conducted several IFRS Accounting Standards, IFRS for SMEs Accounting Standards, ISAs and IPSAS trainings organised by KPMG and ICPAK. He is also involved in new accounting standards implementation projects in East Africa and has been a FiRe Award Judge since 2023.
