Our Culture

KPMG member firms are helping businesses respond to changes in the global economy. We are also committed to providing an environment where our people can flourish and contribute to a sustainable world.
Our Culture

The KPMG culture is rooted in our values. Our integrity and policy of open and honest communication builds trust and collaboration, while our flexibility and diversity creates a culture in which people share knowledge freely, bringing out the very best in each other. Asked why they choose to work with KPMG member firms, many clients talk about our high level of professional ethics, our loyalty and our approachability
Our culture extends beyond good business practice. We are also recognised for the efforts we make to alleviate poverty, support education and protect the environment around the world. KPMG member firms work diligently with other companies, governments and non-government organisations to address these problems and make a positive difference in peoples’ health, welfare and prosperity.

Our employees benefit from this forward-thinking approach. A critical element of KPMG’s global vision is to be recognised as ‘employers of choice’ — to recruit, retain and develop the very best people.

This allows our people to flourish both as professionals and as individuals — to enjoy a challenging career and get the most from their personal lives. They do so, knowing that they are part of a responsible and positive culture that extends beyond them into the greater business, social and natural environment.

Investing in our people

We strive to create fulfilling career opportunities. All our people receive training through our Learning and Development programme, among other avenues, to ensure that they grow themselves to better serve our clients and add increasing value. And to manage their growth and progress, our people have various tools available to them, such as Dialogue – our global system designed to help set up personal career goals and plan and conduct performance reviews.

Under the auspices of the KPMG Network of Women (KNOW), we also have established KPMG’s Growth Acceleration Programme (GAP), where otherwise unemployed graduates are brought into the firm on 12-month training contracts focused on meaningfully equipping them for the professional job market.

Because we are part of a global network, KPMG people also have the chance to gain valuable international experience and work in interesting destinations through our Global Opportunities (GO) Programme.

We care

Independent Counselling and Advisory Services (ICAS) is a confidential, 24-hour a day, 365 days a year personal support and information service open to KPMG people and their immediate families. KPMG people, as well as their family members, can call for help with everyday situations and more serious concerns, eg financial, legal, relationships or stress.

Social networks

Interaction between our people creates opportunities that allow us to better understand and embrace diversity, and brings about the possibility for development. To facilitate an environment of inclusion, we have developed social networking groups for our people.

Some of the social networking groups include KNOW, Toastmasters, Help a School, KPMG’s Musicians in Collaboration (MiC), and KPMG’s Islamic Network.

Apart from creating an opportunity to meet new people, broaden knowledge and experience as well as foster a sense of belonging, our social networks play a supportive role in our recruitment, engagement, retention and business growth efforts.

What helps to make our firm a great place to work and one that retains great talent, are the opportunities we take to have fun outside of work. Besides the numerous social clubs, we also have sports clubs which are very popular for some downtime out of the office. Some of these clubs include the KPMG FC (football club) and the KPMG Premier League (cricket) – which always promise heated league battles season after season.
