Manager/Assistant Manager - Audit (Department of Professional Practice) 

Job Description

KPMG’s Department of Professional Practice supports KPMG Audit professionals in the areas of accounting, auditing and regulatory matters. We satisfy this mission by providing the following services:


  • Consult with and advise our professionals on rules, regulations and policies that guide the delivery of our Audit products in Thailand.
  • Work with standard setters and regulators (e.g. FAP, BOT, SEC, OIC and DBD) as they develop new rules and regulations for our profession.
  • Deliver guidance and training on current accounting and auditing matters.
  • Identify audit quality issues, implement remedial actions and monitor their effectiveness.


DPP’s general responsibilities are to establish the firm’s position on technical accounting and auditing issues and to support the quality and effectiveness of professional service of the audit practice.


  • Keep abreast of regulatory requirements (FAP, SEC, BOT).
  • Communicate new and revised standards and guidance on both accounting and auditing matters to KPMG professionals on a timely basis.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to audit engagement teams.
  • Develop technical materials and training to support KPMG professionals.
  • Identify audit quality issues, implement remedial actions and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Provide advice and develop KPMG Thailand positions on technical questions regarding TFRS, IFRS, US GAAP, auditing and reporting under TSAs and ISAs, and audit methodology.
  • Work closely with Learning and Development Department on delivery of training to KPMG professionals.

Qualifications and skills


  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in accounting, auditing or an appropriate field from an accredited university. 
  • Qualified accountant (CPA or equivalent) with at least five years audit experience with a major firm.
  • Strong knowledge in Thai and International Auditing Standards, and new Thai Financial Reporting Standards and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Self starter with strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Team player, with the ability to multi-task, as well as flexible and can work under pressure.
  • Socially confident with good diplomacy and organization skills.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English and Thai.
