On 9 April 2012 KPMG's Moscow office was the venue for KPMG's sixth Tax Contest for students and graduates.
Over 100 students from different higher educational institutions expressed an interest in the contest, submitting applications. KPMG invited to its Moscow office 20 students, who were selected by the HR Department.
Students had to play the role of tax advisors for the customer "Food Empire".
Partner and managers from Tax & Legal successfully assumed the role of the client (represented by the finance, legal and other departments of the company Food Empire), which had contacted KPMG for tax advice.
They also had to take on the role of strict jury for the participants.
Based on the results of the presentations the jury picked out the team that had proposed the best solution to the case. Six contest participants, who had excelled in the event, were offered a chance to join KPMG Tax & Legal, bypassing standard selection stages.
The winners of the Tax Contest were students of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics and the Finance University under the Government of the Russian Federation: Ivan Nasonov, Julia Shedko, Paola Bilbao and Yuriy Murashko.
The busy day came to a close with an official awards ceremony for the winners and a celebratory reception, which was also attended by employees from KPMG Tax & Legal, who answered questions from participants in an informal atmosphere.
We hope that the students who display different areas of expertise will opt for the profession of tax consultant and decide to build their careers at KPMG Tax & Legal!
