The new G4 sustainability reporting guidelines were published by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) in May 2013. At first glance, the G4 guidelines seem little different from the G3 version in use today. Even so, the new standards contain requirements that differ in many ways from the G3 requirements we have become used to, especially in terms of the creation of new internal company procedures. Companies have two years for the transition to the new reporting standards: the GRI has set a deadline of the end of 2015.
At the workshop, KPMG sustainability reporting preparation and assurance expert will shed light on key issues regarding the new sustainability reporting guidelines. In particular, they will look at:
- The structure of the GRI G4 guidelines
- Changes to the standard disclosures: G3 vs G4
- The transition to GRI G4: key aspects.
At the workshop, we will also present the KPMG International Survey of Corporate Responsibility Reporting, one of the most authoritative in its field. The survey was first published in 1993, and has been conducted on a regular basis since. This issue covers more than 100 companies from 15 economic sectors in more than 40 countries worldwide.
