Philip leads KPMG New Zealand's Security Advisory Services. He has over 16 years' practical experience in the provision of IT security advisory and assurance, IT risk management and IT internal audit throughout New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific region.
Philip’s detailed security knowledge is wide ranging, and he is a specialist in areas such as:
- penetration testing
- vulnerability assessment
- PCI DSS compliance
- data leakage
- security frameworks
- physical security
- computer forensics.
Philip’s detailed IT security and controls knowledge is complemented by his auditing, internal audit and fraud background, which assists him in understanding the business issues related to IT, and the development of practical solutions to issues.
Philip sits on the steering committees for a range of professional bodies, including the:
- Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA)
- Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA)
- Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand IT Special Interest Group.
Philip’s interests include restoring pinball machines and travel. Philip is aiming to visit his 40th country this year.
