I’m currently CEO of KPMG New Zealand. During my 30-year career with KPMG, I’ve managed the firm’s Audit and Risk Management practices. I started my career in KPMG’s London office, becoming a partner in 1994 specialising in property and construction.
My current clients include Fletcher Building Limited, DB Breweries, Rubicon and Contact Energy. Prior to this I’ve acted as the lead engagement partner on a number of the firm’s key clients including Telecom, Millennium & Copthorne Hotels and Restaurant Brands.
I believe our country has untapped potential. There is no question that we are living in a time of dynamic change. Off the back of the GFC, and the greater weight this gives to capitalism with a conscience, businesses and governments alike are questioning the effectiveness of existing models. Here in New Zealand, our clients are seeking greater value and ways to transform a rapidly changing business environment into opportunity.
The common thread running through everything we do at KPMG is our love of success, our love of business, our love of seeing the many and diverse enterprises within New Zealand fulfill their ambitions and exceed their potential. I believe that an underlying entrepreneurial ‘get up and go’ makes New Zealand unique and permeates every aspect of life here. And I believe that KPMG’s services, our people, and our capability together have an important role to play in creating shared wealth and lasting well-being for all New Zealanders.
I am also a trustee of TYLA ( Turn Your Life Around ) which helps at risk children in south and west Auckland.
I am married to Jo and father to two girls, Aimee and Caitlin. I love to travel particularly with the girls and despite being from the UK originally, I am an avid All Blacks supporter.
