When we started KPMG in Russia and the CIS in the early 1990s, clients primarily used us for our Audit services. But in the last seven to eight years we have seen some dramatic changes - there has been huge demand for our Advisory and Tax services, and now our Audit work accounts for about 50 percent (B) of our business. This means we have more balance to our business, and it reflects an economy that has developed enormously since we began working here.

What’s more, the economy in Russia and the CIS is still evolving and growing. We, in turn, can continue to help shape the Russian business environment, and support our firms’ clients as their businesses face new challenges and opportunities.

Russia as an economy still has huge potential and is still expected to grow over the coming years. It has huge natural and financial resources, a large skilled workforce and very little consumer debt. It also has low public exposure to the stock market. While KPMG in Russia and the CIS is not expecting to see the rapid levels of growth that we have seen in recent years (over 50 percent year-on-year) we are continuing to focus long-term - investing in our people and our skills base, and reinforcing our reputation so that we can deliver long-term, sustainable growth.
