May 13: A free trade agreement between Costa Rica and Peru, and a free trade agreement among Costa Rica and other Central American countries and Mexico were published in Costa Rica’s official gazette in April 2013.

M&A guidelines

New consumer-protection (anti-trust) provisions requiring notification of mergers and acquisition were effective in March 2013. With the new provisions, guidelines are provided for the review of certain M&A transactions.
