KPMG Australia Announces New Partners

KPMG has today announced the appointment of 35 new partners and executive directors to its Australian firm, up from 30 last year.

Collectively they have worked across 13 countries, demonstrating strong international experience and connectivity in an increasingly global marketplace.

This year, 34 percent of new partners are women, showing a positive trend over the past 4 years. Geographically, Western Australia saw the largest growth of new partners, shifting from 2 to 6 appointments from the previous year and demonstrating KPMG's strong investment and expectation that the state will continue to represent solid growth opportunities for the firm.

Thirty-five percent of new partners are working in the firm's market-leading Advisory practice, bringing distinctive commercial capabilities and understanding to drive clients' productivity and growth strategies. Thirty percent of new partners are in Audit (up from 13% last year), reflecting the importance of the division to the firm's business. The solid representation of new partners in the firm's Tax division (25%) highlights the growing need for taxation support for inbound clients from Asia as well as clients who have been expanding their businesses. The balance of new partners are in Private Enterprise and business support services.

Announcing KPMG's new partners today, Gary Wingrove, who commences as CEO of KPMG Australia on 1 July, said "Our success turns on the quality of our people. Our new partners demonstrate the diversity of our talent and thought, plus possess extensive industry knowledge and a commitment to driving the best business outcomes for our clients," he said.

"With 57% of new partner recruits sourced internally, this also reflects our commitment to invest in our people and promote from within our local ranks," he added.

KPMG's new partners have technical expertise and experience across a wide range of industry sectors including Financial Services, Government, Infrastructure and Energy; as well as broad professional backgrounds including Corporate and Indirect Tax, Risk Consulting, Management Consulting, Restructuring, Audit and Internal Audit.
