Louis has over 16 years of experience in financial advisory, financial risk and capital management in banking (13+ years SA banking). He has a background in mechanical engineering having worked in heavy plant operations, predominantly in the boilers and powerhouse of a large sugar mill and distillery in Eswatini.

Thereafter he worked for a boutique financial advisory firm in Cape Town where he was mainly involved in managing a commercial property fund and two private equity funds. Subsequently he worked within the Balance Sheet Management function of a Big 4 South African banking group where he was mostly involved in Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) with a focus on risk capital quantification (Pillar 1 and 2 risks), risk aggregation, capital allocation and risk-adjusted performance measurement (RAPM). He has been with KPMG since 2016 working predominantly on capital management, asset and liability management (ALM) and IFRS 9 credit risk engagements including specialist audit support. Louis has expanded his specialisation to Development Finance supporting KPMG’s Project Finance and Infrastructure unit.
