Homes for the next generation: Lessons from the West Midlands

In November 2012, KPMG launched a national charity partnership with Shelter. This partnership goes far beyond fundraising.  We are committed to using our professional services skills to add deeper value to Shelter and its beneficiaries, creating greater impact in our society.

The report is one of the early fruits of our partnership.  Over the summer we met key housing sector stakeholders at several West Midlands roundtables to discuss the blockers and enablers influencing the supply of affordable homes.  This report summarises those discussions.

In the coming months we will use these findings and further housing sector discussions to help us make innovative and deliverable policy recommendations to influence the national debate on the housing shortage. We will present these to government alongside Shelter in 2014.
