Hear from our NAG graduates

Tera Sim

Associate, Audit| Real Estate, Consumer & Tourism

Graduated from University of Melbourne | BA Media Communication, Minor in Japanese Studies

My NAG journey at KPMG has been nothing short of challenging. However, it has been personally fulfilling and I believe that it has allowed myself to become more resilient, deepening my determination to excel in a field that I had never considered before.

Since joining, I had the opportunity to plan one of KPMG’s volunteering initiatives and even took part in their dragonboat team’s orientation! While it was tough striking a balance between work, study and the additional activities, I was glad I did it as I made new friends across the firm from other business functions. These experiences were the best way to kick-off my first few months at the firm and I wouldn’t have done it otherwise!

Beatrice Lim

Associate, Audit| Diversified Industrials and Infrastructure

Graduated from University of Osaka | BSc Human Sciences

I joined the NAG programme in July 2023. I chose to do so because over the course of my degree, I enjoyed learning more about different fields of study, from sociology to international law. And I read that Audit allows one to work with different clients across various industries which piqued my interest. Hence, this programme felt like a natural path to channel my curiosity into.

Part of the programme includes a paid 3-months training which was fast paced and thorough. Coming from a non-accounting background, this was a great opportunity for me to learn accounting speedily with a great amount of support from the firm. The lecturers and my colleagues were very helpful, and responded quickly whenever I had questions and they would even check in frequently to see if I was on the right track. It’s been a good learning environment which reminded me of university days!

Jia Xing

Associate, Audit| Energy and Technology

Graduated from Nanyang Technology University | Chemistry and Biological Chemistry

As I approached graduation, it became evident to me that working within a laboratory setting did not align with my interests, and I aimed to venture into alternative fields to explore different career paths. However, coming from a science background, I lacked the technical skills necessary to seamlessly transition into an entirely different field. This was when, I got to know about the NAG program which was tailored to graduates like me who wanted an opportunity to enter into a new industry.

It’s been a couple of months into the role and I must say that the collaborative nature of the work, the chance to interact with diverse teams and clients, and the ongoing development of both technical and soft skills are keeping me engaged and driven in my role. Albeit having a challenging start, it’s an achievement I take pride in, having overcome and persevered a new discipline in 3 months – of course, with the support of my NAG mates who were alongside me throughout this journey.
