Chris Ash

Chris is an experienced executive health leader who has worked in a variety of senior roles in the United Kingdom and New Zealand. He is himself a product of the United Kingdom’s NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme which fast-tracks the development of senior health leaders, and has spent the subsequent twenty years working in senior operational leadership roles. These roles span acute hospitals, community care and mental health organisations. Alongside his two Chief Operating Officer appointments, Chris’ Board and Executive-level experience in healthcare also includes one year working as Director of Strategy for an NHS provider trust, and two years serving as a Commissioning Director in a New Zealand District. In his seven years in New Zealand, Chris has established a reputation as a connector, championing equity and cultural safety, building strong networks and joint delivery approaches across the public service, and leading teams to tackle big and deep-rooted problems that impact operational performance.
