    Minister for Finance publishes annual cost of R&D tax credit

    The Minister for Finance has published the annual tax expenditure associated with the R&D tax credit regime and the number of companies availing of the incentive from 2008 to 2012, the latest year available.

    Department of Finance publishes working paper on evaluation methodologies

    May 2014

     

    Following its Review of the R&D tax credit regime in 2013, the Department of Finance has published a working paper assessing the methodologies available for evaluating R&D tax credits, as well as the approach adopted by the Department of Finance in its review. 

     

    The paper, ‘An Economic Approach to Evaluate the R&D Tax Credit in Ireland’ (PDF, 944KB), is available to download on the Department’s website.

     


     

    Department of Finance publishes results of R&D tax credit review

    October 2013

     

    As part of Budget 2014, the Department of Finance has published its report on the workings of the R&D tax credit regime, following a comprehensive review of the regime. The report finds that the Irish R&D tax credit is among the “best in class” internationally, and also calls out key areas of improvement.
