Education and wider community

At KPMG we focus much of our corporate citizenship activity on local community and education programs. Sadly, poor education, poverty and violence are an everyday reality in some communities, but our member firms are committed to changing that for the better.

We are involved in hundreds of inspirational projects around the world, from education programs and mentoring, to supporting charitable foundations in enterprise and community cohesion. The common theme is that our people are putting their skills and passions to work to make a positive difference.

KPMG in the US is the sole corporate sponsor of RBI, an outreach program for inner city children that increases participation in baseball and softball, and encourages academic achievement. The US member firm also work with First Book, which puts new books into the hands of underprivileged children.

KPMG in the UK is co-sponsoring a new academy in the London Borough of Hackney and will offer 1,170 places for 11–18 year olds when it reaches full capacity in 2013.

KPMG is also a sponsor of Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE), which encourages university students to make a difference to their communities, while developing their skills as socially responsible future business leaders. KPMG has been involved in SIFE since 1996 and today provides support in over 30 countries.
