Independent Commission on Aid Impact

The Independent Commission on Aid Impact has also developed a framework for measuring value for money throughout the life cycle of a programme. KPMG was engaged by ICAI to perform an evaluation to assess whether DFID’s strategies and approaches for dealing with corruption (particularly in fragile states), were appropriate and sufficient. To date, four country contexts have been reviewed – Bangladesh, Nepal, Nigeria and Zambia. This review examined the nature of DFID’s approach to combating systemic corruption through its planning and programming, how DFID makes choices to safeguard UK funds from the risk of corruption and maximizing development impact, and how DFID responds effectively when it encounters incidents of corruption.
