Living Earth Case Study: Provision of Seedlings and Cassava Stems 

Demand systems established by the GTF project – the Accountability Corps and Good Governance Forums – were critical in securing local government contributions towards rehabilitation in the wake of the 2012 flood.

The 2012 Niger Delta floods, which occurred in Isoko North during the months of September, October and November traumatised and caused serious economic and social disruption to the lives of the communities of the Local Government Authority (LGA).


Numerous mud buildings and homes were destroyed in the affected communities; people lost their lives; fishponds and farms were swept away.
