Michael Aristides

Michael is an active Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the UK and Fellow of the Cyprus Actuarial Association . Michael joined KPMG Cyprus in 2022 to lead the Actuarial and Insurance Risk Services team. He specialises in advising Life and Non-Life clients in both actuarial and insurance risk areas including IFRS17, Solvency II, Financial Transformations and Optimisations, Reserving calculations, Capital and Reinsurance Optimisation, Modelling Optimisations and ESGs. Michael advises clients on the calculation and adequacy of insurance liabilities under IFRS as well as Best Estimate Liabilities under Solvency II. He also advises Board Committees and Boards of Directors on the Solvency Capital requirements under the Pillar 1 standard formula of SII and oversees all the Pillar III Regulatory submissions. He also advises clients on operational management, underwriting and claims management, data analytics and systems, sales strategies and business planning as well as on general stakeholder management. Additionally, Michael is the lead actuarial expert for all the KPMG insurance actuarial audit engagements taking place in Cyprus. He is also the lead actuarial specialist in actuarial audits taking place in United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Azerbaijan and Greece. Prior to joining KPMG Cyprus, Michael worked in the insurance industry where he held a number of key executive management and actuarial management positions in both local and international Life and Non-Life insurance companies working with Actuarial, Claims, Operations, Finance, IT and Sales teams.
