What is a QR Code?

A QR Code (Quick Response Code) is a two-dimensional code which stores information both vertically and horizontally. It allows complex information such as URLs to be stored and transmitted easily.

How do I use QR Code?

A QR Code can be quickly decoded by a common mobile device (e.g. iPad, iPhone, Android phone and BlackBerry) that is equipped with a camera and QR Code decoding app or QR Code reader. By simply taking a photo of the QR Code, the mobile device decodes the information to text or automatically accesses a specific webpage.

QR Codes officially produced by KPMG China

Only those QR Codes found in KPMG China's official channels are treated as QR Codes produced by KPMG China. These channels include KPMG China's official website (, KPMG China's publications and KPMG China's event settings.

QR Codes found in other channels or media, and their decoded content, are not regarded as having been officially produced by KPMG China. In case of doubt, please contact us. We will not be liable for decoded content from QR Codes found in any of these third-party channels.

Download a QR Code reader

You will find a selection of QR Code readers by searching for 'QR Code' at the App Store, Android Market or BlackBerry App World. Please be sure to choose a QR Code reader app from a reputable provider so that the decoded information is authentic and uncontaminated.

KPMG China will not collect personal data from mobile users through the QR Code decoding process. However, we suggest that users always pay attention to the terms of use and privacy before downloading a QR Code reader app.

How to use RSS feeds?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) provides a fast and effective way of seeing when the KPMG website has added new content. These feeds are automatically updated, alerting you whenever new content is added.

What is RSS?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. When you subscribe to an RSS feed you will get the latest headlines, summaries and links in one place, as soon as they are published. This means you don't have to constantly revisit the KPMG website to learn what's new.

How do I use RSS feeds?

You will need a news reader to check the feeds you subscribe to and let you view headlines and links to newly published content. See below for details of how to get a reader if you don't currently have one.

RSS feeds, on this site, are indicated by orange icons next to the title of a specific RSS feed.

Clicking the icon will take you to a page that describes the feed in greater detail. From there you can click a link to open the feed window. Copy and paste its URL into your newsreader to subscribe.

More advanced browsers, such as Internet Explorer 7+, Firefox, Opera and Safari, have their built-in RSS functionality. As simple as triggering the RSS function on the tool bar, you will be automatically subscribed to a URL feed.

If you have difficulties subscribing to a feed, please refer to the instructions that come with your reader.

When new content is published, you can use the reader to scan headlines and click through to our web site to view the full version of the article or feature.

How do I get a news reader?

There are many different versions of newsreaders, some accessed using a browser and some which are downloadable applications. Deciding which one to use is a matter of personal choice. Different readers work on different operating systems, so you will need to choose one that will work with your computer.

Below is a list of popular readers that you may wish to use:
