After many of its customers entered China, the client began to appreciate the enormous potential of the Chinese market. Following in the steps of its customers, the client began to invest in China, hoping to replicate the success it had elsewhere. However, the client’s investments in China did not provide the hoped-for returns. Growth was slow, results weren't in line with the opportunities afforded by the enormous scale of the Chinese market, and there was no clear plan for how to expand the business in China.
