In recent years, China has emerged as one of the preferred shared services and outsourcing destinations in Asia Pacific. The 12th Five-Year Plan emphasised the importance of the service industry to China and also demonstrated that support for the shared services and outsourcing industry continue to be strong.
Whilst many leading global companies in China have started their shared services journey early and have already achieved a high level of maturity. Some have just now realised the benefits of setting up and operating a Shared Services Centre (SSC) in China. Business functions supported by SSCs have also expanded from the traditional ones of finance and accounting, HR, IT to R&D, KPO and analytics.
