In recent years, China has emerged as one of the preferred shared services and outsourcing destinations in Asia Pacific. The 12th Five-Year Plan emphasised the importance of the service industry to China and also demonstrated that support for the shared services and outsourcing industry continue to be strong.

Whilst many leading global companies in China have started their shared services journey early and have already achieved a high level of maturity. Some have just now realised the benefits of setting up and operating a Shared Services Centre (SSC) in China. Business functions supported by SSCs have also expanded from the traditional ones of finance and accounting, HR, IT to R&D, KPO and analytics.

What are the implications for your business?

• How should your company approach transformation through shared services operation?

• What are your key considerations for successful shared services strategy?

• What are the key challenges that your company faces in the different stages of the shared services cycle and how should you address them?

At the KPMG 2nd Annual China Shared Services Summit 2011 on 1 November, leading independent advisors and senior executives together with MNCs who have been through the process will provide insight into the different stages of the shared services cycle.

Panels and presentations will include insights on global and local trends of shared services, performance measurement, strategy and the evolution of shared services operations, as well as other best practices in running a successful shared services and sourcing strategy.
