Experience

· Mark Thompson grew up in Guernsey and trained and worked for KPMG in London and Hong Kong before returning to Guernsey in 1994.

· Mark is responsible for advising on auditing, accounting and regulatory issues to clients across a range of offshore finance businesses including the banking, investment funds and captive insurance industries. He was the lead engagement partner for the audit of the States of Guernsey for the five years to 2006.

· Mark was made a partner at KPMG in the Channel Islands in 1997 and he held roles as Head of Insurance Practice, Head of Audit, Guernsey Managing Partner and Risk Management Partner before being appointed Managing Director.

· Mark has participated in a number of industry boards and working parties. He has an extensive knowledge of the finance industry covering banking, investment funds and captive insurance.

· He is Chairman of the Guernsey Branch of the Institute of Directors.

· He has pioneered KPMG’s corporate social responsibility initiatives across Guernsey and Jersey.
