KPMG Chair for Audit and Accounting

KPMG Chair for Audit and Accounting

Since 2005 there has been a KPMG Chair for Audit and Accounting at the University of St. Gallen.  This position contributes to the dialogue between faculty, researchers and professionals and underscores the importance of accounting and auditing as areas of specialization in the global financial system in general and in Switzerland as a business center.

 

 

ETH Risk Center

ETH Risk Center

Together with leading financial services providers and companies, KPMG supports the “ETH Risk Center,” which aims to become one of the world’s leading centers of expertise in integrative risk management. Natural, economic and social risks are becoming increasingly complex – especially for Zurich as an international financial center – and have an impact on technological and social structures.

 

With this in mind, KPMG is supporting the ETH Zurich Risk Initiative, of which the heart of this initiative is the ETH Risk Center. Several current ETH professorships are involved in the project, with the creation of five new chairs and the launch of pioneering research projects set up to underpin the development of potential solutions to problems of cross-disciplinary risk. A dedicated platform for dialogue will guarantee the exchange of specialist knowledge and research findings between the academic and private sectors.

 

CAS in Entrepreneurship

CAS in Entrepreneurship

    Entrepreneurship is key to the success of a country’s economy, particularly in challenging economic times. In the “CAS in Entrepreneurship” course at the University of Bern, which aims to promote entrepreneurship in Switzerland, lecturers with a wealth of specialist knowledge and practical expertise share their experience and provide a platform for an interactive exchange with high-profile figures from the business world. Because entrepreneurship is such an important topic, KPMG sponsors this program. 

     

 

KPMG Tomorrow's Market Award  

YES is a non-profit organization that develops and supervises practice-oriented economic education programs for young people. KPMG supports the «Company Program» in which young people found and run a real company over the course of one year. They learn how the business world works and which role entrepreneurship plays in our society. In workshops, KPMG employees pass on their knowledge about team work. The most successful team is acknowledged with the KPMG Team Award.

 
KPMG Tomorrow's Market Award  

This CHF 50,000 award dates back to a joint initiative in 2006 by KPMG and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). Through its Tomorrow's Market Award, KPMG seeks to promote research and innovation in Switzerland and to establish valuable connections between universities and tomorrow's markets. The purpose of the contest is to identify highly marketable technologies with great commercial potential for the future.
