Prof. Dr. Franz Hasenböhler is a legal adviser in the Basel office.
Prof. Hasenböhler was a full professor for private law at the law school of the University of Basel until he was appointed emeritus professor in 2003. He is a member of the examination board commissioned by the Executive Federal Council, who are working for a complete revision of the law on insurance contracts. In addition, he was a member of the examination board for a Code of Civil Procedure for the whole of Switzerland.
Before he was appointed professor for private law in 1989, Prof. Hasenböhler was head of the legal department of an insurance company and then president of the Arlesheim district court. Prof. Hasenböhler has also been a judge at the Swiss Federal Supreme Court since 1982.
Prof. Hasenböhler will mainly focus on the insurance market. His other areas of work include corporate law and contract law as well as the law relating to domestic relations, estate administration and civil procedure.
