Senior Advisors – Accounting Advisory

 

Reporting to the Advisory Partners, successful candidates will be responsible for:

 

  • Overseeing the delivery of accounting and financial reporting-related tasks and projects, including:
    - Setting up outsourced financial accounting and reporting structures for clients
    - Assisting clients to optimise Finance Functions including undertaking assessments and providing recommendations on improvements
  • Review of  financial statements prepared in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and preparing periodic management accounts
  • Attendance of client Board meetings as company secretary representative, including advising clients on Corporate Governance
  • Managing, coaching and implementing performance management processes for junior staff
  • Establishing and maintaining sound working relationships with client counterparts
  • Monitoring compliance to technical standards and internal policies and procedures and providing technical guidance to the Team.
  • Undertaking complex or special technical engagements
  • Undertaking  business development activities
  • Managing the department’s costs and working capital

 

Requirements:

 

  • Be a professionally qualified accountant (CA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • At least eight years post qualification experience in a financial accounting environment, of which four should have been in a management role
  • Be trained at a professional firm of accountants
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff
  • Excellent computer skills; knowledge of Caseware and Pastel are essential
  • Demonstrable knowledge and interpretation of IFRS, the Botswana Companies Act, Income Tax Act and VAT Act.

Advisors – Accounting Advisory

  • Performing accounting and financial reporting-related tasks and projects
  • Compiling and reviewing financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and preparing periodic management accounts
  • Supervising, coaching and implementing performance management processes for junior staff
  • Establishing and maintaining sound working relationships with client counterparts
  • Monitoring of compliance to technical standards and internal policies and procedures
  • Assisting with business development activities, including assisting with coordinating development and delivery of proposals.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Be a professionally qualified accountant (CA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • At least five years relevant experience in accounting and financial reporting environment, of which two should have been in a supervisory role
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff
  • Excellent computer skills; knowledge of Caseware and Pastel are essential
  • Good understanding of requirements of IFRS, the Botswana Companies Act, Income Tax Act and VAT Act.
