I chose to go on the KPMG Earthwatch expedition after the 2003 Canberra bushfires which had a significant impact on our community and the surrounding region. Spending 2 weeks on the island of St Bees in the Great Barrier Reef was an amazing experience, as I spent the time chasing koalas, spending time on the beach and trudging through forests, which is an experience I have never gained before.
