Education

Through our Enterprise Development and Socio-Economic Development initiatives, KPMG in South Africa is able to put our specific experience and skills to work for the good of our communities. We share our knowledge and our experience with others to help them succeed: whether it is in a profit-orientated business environment or for the sustainable development of community-centred organisations.

In South Africa, KPMG was a founding member of Enactus (previously known as SIFE) at its local inception in 2002 and has remained actively involved ever since. Working through South African tertiary institutions, Enactus mobilises students to make a difference in their communities while they strive to develop their skills to become socially responsible business leaders.

KPMG International was instrumental in helping Enactus introduce the inaugural World Cup in London in 2001. Twelve years later, KPMG still remains one of their top donors worldwide.  Last year, KPMG reconfirmed its belief in the Enactus signature global event by making a three-year commitment to serve as the Presenting Sponsor of the World Cup beginning with the 2012 event in Washington, DC.

KPMG is  the Global Presenting Sponsor of the Enactus World Cup taking place in Cancun, Mexico on 30 September and 1 October 20113. KPMG in South Africa is proud to support the Enactus team from the University of Pretoria (UP) as it represents South Africa at the Enactus World Cup.

Proud recipient of the 2013 Global Champion Award, KPMG was the first organisation to ever receive the accolade, demonstrating the value Enactus places on the relationship with KPMG.

The firm supports Enactus financially and through the provision of professional advisory services and other skills-based intellectual input. Yunus Suleman, Chairman of KPMG in South Africa is the chairman of Enactus South Africa with Carl Ballot, head of communications holding  the communications portfolio on the Enactus board.
