Around the world, there has been a largely inconsistent approach to eHealth. Many jurisdictions are either developing or implementing large-scale change programmes, the likes of which have not been seen in healthcare for the last hundred years. But, while some projects have ultimately been successful, more often they lose momentum after the pilot phase, collapsing under their own complexity or spiralling implementation costs.
