On Tuesday, 18 September 2012, the firm’s healthcare practice is hosting a Healthcare Dialogue titled The implication of price regulation in South Africa – A Global perspective of the local market.
Nigel Edwards, KPMG Director of Global Health Reform, will be the session’s guest speaker. Nigel is recognised as an authority on health policy and delivery systems globally. He is known for his original thinking and ability to communicate difficult concepts in an effective and accessible way to a wide range of audiences including national media, politicians, international audiences, clinicians and managers.
Nigel is a Senior Fellow with the King’s Fund, an internationally recognised think tank and research institute. He is also an Honorary Visiting Professor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, serves on the editorial board of Health Services Research and a reviewer for BMJ, JHSR&P, JRSM and a number of other journals, and is a member of an expert commission for the Office for Health Economics on Competition in Health Care.
The session is a fantastic opportunity to explore the lessons we can learn from different models of price regulation in the health sector, providing compelling insights from around the world for payers and providers alike in the South African market.
