CBP - Use fee decal / transponder online applications

September 3: The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) posted updated information and instructions under the user fee decal / transponder online application process.

Read the CBP instructions (August 30, 2013) containing the online application procedures.

In a separate August 30 release, CBP announced changes to the shipping costs of decals shipped to Canada and Mexico. Beginning September 1, 2013, Canadian shipping increased to $18.00, and the price for all expedited shipments to Canada is now increased to $18.00 per package. Because the Mexico registered shipping option is no longer available, decals and transponders sent to Mexico will be sent U.S. standard mail.

CBP stated that expedited shipping does not mean expedited processing and that expedited processing is not available (all orders are processed first come, first served basis with processing time from four to six weeks during renewal season).
