Air AMS processing of split-house shipment in-bond transfer 

November 9:   The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced that as of October 31, 2012, air AMS (automated manifest systems) processing of split-house shipment in-bond transfer detail can accept the unique in-bond control number received with transfer detail associated to subsequent split-house part arrival flight identification.

According to the CBP release (CSMS #12-000503 November 9, 2012), prior to October 31, 2012, air AMS:


  • Accepted only the first in-bond control number associated to split-house shipment part arrival flight identification and
  • Generated a freight status notification (FSN) disposition code 1D message with this in-bond number associated to the other split-house shipment flight identification boarded quantity while ignoring the unique in-bond number received with transfer detail associated to other part arrival flight identifications
