Evolving Banking Regulation - Americas

This annual report addresses the current regulatory enviroment and implementation of banking regulations across the United States, Canada and South America. This year, KPMG highlights the strategic and operational challenges the changing regulations will pose to banks as well as the Regulatory Pressure Index, which reflect global impacts.

KPMG looks at banks’ responses to three main areas of financial services regulation: first, systemic risk and regulations on capital and liquidity; second, reporting, supervision and governance; and third, customer treatment, market infrastructure and financial taxes.

The report concludes by looking at the long-term implications of the regulatory changes on the banking industry and provides lessons for the future.
