Case study

 

  • We were engaged by a large telecommunications company to help them identify ways in which they could reduce their employment tax costs 
  • By reviewing their existing expenses arrangement, we were able to restructure their subsistence payments, resulting in recurring annual savings of £12 million, split equally between employer and employee 
  • For the same client, we were subsequently engaged to help them implement the Holiday Pay Scheme ("HPS”), taking advantage of a specific piece of tax legislation to provide holiday pay, free of National Insurance to those individuals directly involved in construction operations 
  • This resulted in further recurring annual savings of £13 million split evenly between the employer and employee 
  • Our considerable experience of implementing these schemes, working with various stakeholders and our strong reputation with HMRC helped us to deliver real value to our client
