Budget 2012: Tax relief boost for creative industries

Wednesday 21 March 2012

Lucy Parry,  Media Tax Specialist at KPMG comments on planned tax reliefs for the production of video games, animations and high-end television productions:

“This is a welcome boost for the UK creative industries. It will hopefully prevent large budget British TV productions like Titanic and The Tudors being filmed abroad where tax breaks are more generous.”

“We expect the new reliefs to be modelled on existing film tax credits which were introduced a few years ago and have been very successful in bringing more film productions to Britain.”
