Commenting on the official inauguration of The Shard in London today, Stephen Barter, Director from KPMG’s Real Estate practice said : “We are delighted to see that this iconic landmark addition to the London skyline has been finished on time. The real test now will be the markets appetite for the office space, given current conditions and the development under construction within the Square Mile. The impact of the Shard in creating a new commercial quarter around London Bridge Station is already being felt.”
Richard Reid Chairman for KPMG in London added : “The Shard is not only symbolic of confidence in London as a vital business centre, but it is a tremendous new feature on the tourist map and, most importantly, will regenerate a whole new quarter of the City.”
