By bringing together the specialist knowledge of organisations across the third sector and the expertise of a group of small businesses (SMEs), KPMG and its partners have been placed on the Government’s preferred supplier list for contracts worth up to £2 million.
Following a competitive tender process KPMG and its partners have been awarded places on 8 of the Government’s rosters, covering areas ranging from financial strategy to internal audit and assurance services. KPMG’s appointment is part of the first phase of awards for ConsultancyONE – the recently launched single route for Government to buy consultancy services.
Alan Downey, head of public sector at KPMG, says: “Delivering improvements in public services under the current economic climate requires a change to the traditional approach. To deliver the cost savings that Government has rightly committed to and still retain high levels of service, all sectors - government, third sector and the private sector - must work together to provide the richest and most economically viable solutions to tackle complex needs.

The award is the first phase of the new consultancy framework developed by the Government Procurement Service (GPS). A second phase is expected to be announced later this month.
