KPMG’s UK Investment Advisory practice (“KPMG”) has been appointed as investment advisers to the Trustees of the Lloyd’s Register Superannuation Fund Association (“the Fund”). The appointment follows a competitive tendering process in which the Trustees considered applications from across the investment consulting market.
Primarily working with the Investment Committee, which reports to the Trustees, KPMG will advise on the investment of the Fund’s c£650 million of assets with specific regard to its liabilities. This will begin with a comprehensive review of the existing investment arrangements. Key areas of focus will be diversification, as well as the potential use of liability driven investment.
KPMG’s appointment was cited as being due to their ability to provide clear and direct advice through a proactive approach. Patrick McCoy, Partner and Head of KPMG’s Investment Advisory Practice, said: “Lloyd’s Register were looking for an adviser who could provide clear and insightful advice on developing an investment strategy that drives the improvement of the funding position and we are delighted that they have entrusted us with that job.”
Neil Dunford, Chairman of the Trustees, said “We look forward to working with KPMG, and were impressed by their understanding of our requirements.”
